This article will show you how to initially set up Reolink NVRs via the Reolink App step by step.

Applies to: RLN8-410, RLN16-410, RLN36, RLN12W.

Here is a video for your reference:

Step 1. Power up the NVR, and plug the LAN port at the back of your NVR into your router with an Ethernet cable to access the internet. Then launch the Reolink App on your phone.

Note: Please make sure the device and your phone are on the same network.

Step 2. Tap the icon in the top right corner.

Step 3. Scan the QR code on your NVR, or tap Input UID/IP to enter the UID of the NVR (a 16-digit number under the QR code). Then tap Next.

Step 4. For security considerations, you need to create a password for the first time.

Step 5. Name your device. Then tap Next.

Step 6. Initialization finished! You can start to live view now.

Notes:

  1. If the camera is directly connected to the NVR or part of a kit, it supports plug and play. After completing the initial setup in the app, you can directly live view the camera.

  2. If the camera is configured as a standalone camera but you want to add it to the NVR, you must connect the NVR to a monitor using an HDMI or VGA cable, enter the preconfigured password of the camera to complete the addition.
