Reolink NVRs come with two types of user interfaces, which can be identified based on the hardware version. Refer to the following article to check the UI of your Reolink NVR before checking this guide: Comprehensive Guide to Reolink NVR Hardware Versions.
This article is divided into two parts:
Reolink NVRs with New UI
Method 1
Applies to: RLN8-410 (hardware version H3MB18/N2MB02/N3MB01/N7MB01), RLN16-410 (hardware version H3MB18/N6MB01), RLN36 and RLN12W.
Step 1. Log in to your NVR via the monitor, and go to the Settings page.
Step 2. Go to the Storage page. Choose the HDD you want to format and click on the Format button to format it.
Method 2
Applies to: RLN8-410 (hardware version N7MB01) and RLN16-410 (hardware version N6MB01) with firmware v3.6 and later
Step 1. Log in to your NVR via the monitor, and go to the Settings page by clicking the gear icon.
Step 2. Click the Home section to check the storage information on the right.
Step 3. Click the Storage section to enter the Storage page. There you can check the details of the HDD or format it.
Reolink NVRs with Old UI
Applies to: RLN8-410 (hardware version H3MB02/H3MB16), RLN16-410 (hardware version H3MB02).
Step 1. Log in to your NVR via the monitor, and go to Menu > Device > HDD page.
Step 2. Choose the HDD you want to format and click on the Init button to format it.
Note: The S.M.A.R.T option is designed for the support team to check the information. Customers do not need to pay close attention to this option.
