The RLC-823A series cameras have several IR LEDs. When at night, different amounts of LEDs will light up depending on the different focus positions of the camera.

If you find that the IR LEDs of your camera are partly lit, don't worry, there is nothing wrong with your camera.

There’re three modes of IR LEDs for the RLC-823A series cameras depending on the different focus positions as explained below:

RLC-423/823A 16X

1. Two/Three IR LEDs on the bottom are lit.

Please note these LEDs are high beam lights, if the camera is focusing on a far scene, these LEDs will light up like the picture below.

2. Four LEDs on the top are lit.

Please note that these 4 IR LEDs are low beam lights, if the camera is focusing at a close position, these 4 IR LEDs will light up as shown in the picture below.

3. All the IR LEDs are lit.

If the camera verifies the current scene is in the middle of the focus position, all the LEDs will light up as shown in the picture below.

RLC-823S1/823S1W

1. Wide-angle lens: start with three small IR lights.

2. In the middle of the focus position: the brightness of the small one remains, and the other four big ones start to light up.

3. Telephoto lens: all IR light up.

RLC-823S2

1. Wide-angle lens: light up four big IR lights.
2. In the middle of the focus position: the brightness of the small IR lights increases, and brightness of the other four big IR lights decreases.
3. Telephoto lens: four big IR lights go out and three small IR lights remain on.

The camera will light different amount of LEDs according to its different focal length, if there are only 3 or 4 LEDs on, it does not mean the camera is defective but indicate the camera is on a particular focal length.
