Q: IPC Casing is a little bit hot, will the IPC be very hot and easy to burn down?
A: IPC is operating in a good condition, but why the casing is so hot, here are the reasons:
1) The IPC (main heat source) is contacted to the shell directly via a thin heat conduction silica gel in order to achieve min thermal resistance. The temperature depends on heat source power, thermal resistance and surface area. For Reolink IPC, shell surface area is just heat dissipation area. So, with small thermal resistance, the shell temperature is very close to that of IPC.
2) IPC is not a hand-held device (such as mobile phone). The handy feeling is not considered preferentially. When people touch IPC (metal shell), he or she will feel very hot when it reaches 50-60 ℃ which is far below IPC operating limit temperature 85 ℃.
What test we have been done about the camera temperature?
1) Environment reliability test
High-Temperature Operating | Temperature: 50 ± 2℃. Humidity:80% Time: 24 hrs |
Low Temperature Operating | Temperature: -10 ± 2℃. Humidity: no setup Time: 24 hrs |
High-Temperature storage | High Temperature: 70 ± 2℃. Humidity: 95% Time : 48 hrs |
Low Temperature storage | Low Temperature: -40 ± 2℃. Humidity: no setup Time: 48 hrs |
2) Temperature test
Environment temperature: 25℃, with IR LED on, operating 2 hrs;
53℃
28℃
Actually, during the daily use, IR LED will be on at night time, but normally temperature is lower than 25℃ during the night time.
