Sharing your Reolink device with others allows for convenient monitoring and enhanced collaboration. Whether you want to give family members access or share with trusted friends, this guide will walk you through the steps to easily and securely share your device using Reolink's Basic and Advanced Sharing Features.
Applies to: All Reolink Devices
Regarding the sharing feature, Reolink has received considerable customer feedback requesting the ability to customize sharing permissions. In response, Reolink has designed the Advanced Sharing Feature to better meet the needs of more customers. This feature is currently supported only on the Home Hubs and some specific NVR/camera models. Below are the two methods for device sharing. You can use the corresponding method based on the current sharing interface of your Reolink device.
Note: With Basic Sharing, other users have the same permissions as you and can change device settings. If you prefer to limit their access, please consider using the Advanced Sharing feature. For Reolink Go PT S Lite, please refer to How to Share Devices Using Your Reolink Account for more details.
1. Basic Sharing Feature
Here we'll guide you to share your configured cameras or NVRs with others by scanning the QR code on the Share page.
Step 1. Launch Reolink App on your phone, then tap on icon to enter the Device Settings page. (Even if the device can not be connected, you can find the UID/QR code.) Tap Share Device.
Step 2. You will find the sharing QR code/UID. Share the UID/QR code to the one who you want to share the device's access, and tell him/her the username and login password of the device.
Note:
- Battery-powered cameras do not have username.
- Other device's default username is admin (lowercase letter.)
Step 3. Add Reolink device to the Phone App or PC Client by inputting the UID / scanning the QR code.
Note: Reolink PC Client does not support scanning the QR code.
2. Advanced Sharing Feature
*Supported Models
Not all models support advanced sharing features. Check this table to see if your camera supports this feature.
Note: Make sure you are using the latest firmware version if you cannot find the Advanced Sharing Feature of the camera below.

*Step-by-Step Instructions
The following text describes the feature of sharing devices on the Reolink App and Reolink Client. You can click on the respective software platform to configure the settings and share device.
-
Reolink App
Step 1. Log in to your device on the Reolink App, and go to Device Settings > Share Device.
Note: For Reolink Home Hub Series users, go to the Hub's settings to find Share Device, not the camera's settings.
Step 2. Tap Share Device.
Step 3. On the Share Device page, configure User Alias (set a name for the shared user), select the Access Level, set the Authorization date, and tap Next.
- User Alias – A custom name assigned to the person you are sharing the device with, making it easier to identify different share users.
- Allow management: Allow the user to view device info and control all the features on the device.
- View only: Authorize the user to Live View and Playback only. And customize whether the user can use Talk/PTZ and receive Push Notifications.
- Authorization date: Select the duration of sharing. Available options are 1/7/30/180 day(s) or 1/2/3 year(s).
- Authorise Device/Channel: If you choose the View Only permissions for the Reolink Home Hub/Reolink NVR, you will be able to choose the specific devices that are linked to the hub/NVR. This allows you to share just some of the device.
Step 4. Set an authorization key to allow invitees to access your device after entering the key you provide. Tap Generate Authorization Code, and choose to share the authorization code or the authorization link with others. The authorization code/link will be valid for 30 minutes.
Note: Currently, the shared link generated by the app’s authorization feature can only be used to log in through the app. Support for logging in via the desktop client will be added in a future update.
Step 5. For the share user: scan the authorization code with Reolink App by tapping Album and select the QR code you received. Or copy the authorization link (Directly copy, without removing the content "Copy this and paste it..."), open the Reolink App, paste the authorization link, enter the authorization key, tap Next to Add the device.
Note: One device can be shared with a maximum of 20 users.
Once the other user has successfully added the device, it will appear in your Share Device interface. You can tap the added user to modify their permissions. Alternatively, you may tap the minus icon in the top-right corner to remove the user, or add additional users to share the device with.
①-cancel and add ; ②-edit
Note: The camera interface on the share user's Reolink App will have a special logo.
-
Reolink Client

- Allow management: Allow the user to view device info and control all the features on the device.
- View only: Authorize the user to Live View and Playback only. And customize whether the user can use Talk/PTZ and receive Push Notifications.
- Authorise Device/Channel: If you choose the View Only permissions for the Reolink Home Hub/Reolink NVR, you will be able to choose the specific devices that are linked to the hub/NVR. This allows you to share just some of the device.
- Authorization date: Select the duration of sharing.

UI on NVR:
Step 3. After configuration, enter the Authorization key and then tap Generate Authorization Code to create the code.
Step 4. Choose to share the authorization code or the authorization link with others. The authorization code/link will be valid for 30 minutes. If you choose to share the authorization code, you could copy the authorization key with others.Step 5. For the share user, ask him/her to scan the authorization code in Reolink App and enter the authorization key; or copy the authorization link (Directly copy, without removing the content "Copy this and paste it...") in Reolink Client, open the Reolink App/Client, paste the authorization link and click Add to Add the device.
Note: One device can be shared with a maximum of 20 users.
If you want to change the permissions of an already added user, you can also click on the corresponding user account to make changes.
If you want to Cancel Sharing, click
to select the user you want to cancel. Then tap Save.
Notes:
1. The camera interface on the share user's Reolink client will have a special icon.
2. The share user does not have permission to share the device, and their functions are limited.
Notes:
1. Before logging in via a shared access link or QR code, please ensure the device has been removed from your App/Client device list.
If the device is on the same local network as your App/Client, and the "Auto-Scan" or "Automatically Add Device" feature is enabled, the camera may be automatically detected and added to your list. In this case, even if you scan the sharing QR code or click the sharing link, the App will redirect you to the existing device entry instead of applying the shared access permissions.
To resolve this: Delete the device from your list first, then re-add it using the sharing link or QR code provided.
2. Users who add a device via the Advanced Sharing feature do not have access to the following functions:
- App: "Advanced Settings"
- App: "Device Update" (Firmware Update)
- Client: "System Settings"
