The capacity of an enclosure to withstand external mechanical impact could be classified by the Vandal Resistant Rating (IK Code) which is an international standard for defining the resistance level of a security camera’s housing, or the protection level of the housing for the camera’s mechanical and electronic components.

To maximize vandal resistance, Reolink RLC-422 dome security camera and RLC-422W 5MP dome IP camera are manufactured to meet IK 10 standards. With this design, Reolink RLC-422 and RLC-422W cameras can sustain up to 20 joules of external mechanical impact, which can be rendered as highly vandal-proof.

The following table clearly illustrates the IK code and its corresponding resistant capacity to external mechanical impact.
