By uploading security camera footage to FTP servers, you can enjoy these advantages without paying expensive subscription fees. This article will show you how to set up FTP via Reolink PoE NVR.

Applies to: RLN4-410, RLN8-410 (hardware version H3MB02/H3MB16), and RLN16-410 (hardware version H3MB02/H3MB06).

Note: Please verify that your FTP server is working properly before configuring FTP settings on Reolink PoE NVR software. If you don't have one, see how to build an FTP server on Your PC (Cerberus FTP Server).

  • Server IP: Type in the IP address of your FTP server and enter the correct Port. The default value of the port is 21.
  • Username and Password: Enter the User Name and the Password of your FTP server. If your FTP server does not require a username and a password, please check Anonymous. If it is checked, the FTP server needs to create a user named Anonymous and this user has not set a password.
  • Remote Directory: Set an upload directory for the recordings to be uploaded to. You may also leave it blank.
  • Create subfolder by date: If the remote directory is reolink, the file will be saved to the path “root director > reolink > 2023 > 03 > 02”.
  • File Length(MB): Set the length of each video package uploaded to the server.
  • Stream Type: Choose the uploaded video resolution (Clear/Fluent/Balanced Video).
  • Transmission Mode: Auto, Port, Pasv. We suggest you choose Auto.
  • Postpone: Set the record time limit after a motion is detected. This option is only available when FTP Schedule is in Motion.

Step 2. Configure the schedule of FTP upload. Check Enable and select the channel you want to configure.
