When you have multiple Wi-Fi networks at home and need to switch your Reolink camera to a different one, or if a plug-in Wi-Fi camera was initially set up using an Ethernet cable and you now want to switch to a wireless connection, this article will guide you through the process.

Applies to: All Reolink Wi-Fi cameras.

Note:

  1. If you are changing your WiFi SSID or password, or if you have replaced your router/modem and your camera is no longer connecting, refer to How to Avoid Losing Wi-Fi Connection When Changing a Router or Router Wi-Fi Password for the correct steps.

Switching Wi-Fi For Standalone Camera

The following section explains how to switch the Wi-Fi for your standalone camera across different software platforms.

  • Via Reolink App

    Here is a video for your reference:

    Step 1: Access Wi-Fi Settings
    Launch the Reolink App, log in to your camera, and go to Device Settings > Wi-Fi.

    Step 2: Select and Connect to Wi-Fi
    Choose the Wi-Fi network, enter the password, and tap Save to switch the connection. Your camera will now be connected to the new Wi-Fi network.

    Step 3: Verify Current Wi-Fi

    Check the Current Wi-Fi on your camera to confirm that it shows the Wi-Fi network you intend for the camera to connect to. If you've connected your camera with a network cable, you may remove it now.

  • Via Reolink Client

    Here is a video for your reference: 

    Step 1: Launch Reolink Client
    Open the Reolink Client, log in to your camera, and go to Camera Settings > Network. Click the Wi-Fi Network Settings icon as shown below.

    Step 2: Choose Wi-Fi Network and Enter Password
    Select the SSID (network name) of the Wi-Fi you want to connect to, enter the correct password, and click Connect to save the settings.

    Step 3: Verify Current Wi-Fi

    Check the Current Wi-Fi on your camera to confirm that it shows the Wi-Fi network you intend for the camera to connect to. If you've connected your camera with a network cable, you may remove it now.

  • Via Reolink Web browser

    Applies to: Reolink Wi-Fi (plug-in) cameras except for Reolink E1, Reolink E1 Pro (hardware version IPC_566), and Reolink Lumus.

    Step 1: Access Wi-Fi Settings
    Log in to your camera via a web browser, go to Device Settings > Network > Saved Wi-Fi Network, and click the Wi-Fi network icon.

    Step 2: Select Network and Enter Password
    Choose the Wi-Fi SSID, input the password, and click Connect.

    Wait until the Current Network Connection is succeeded. Once the connection is successful, you can remove the Ethernet cable if used.

Switching Wi-Fi for Camera Connected to Reolink Home Hub/Pro

Reolink WiFi cameras connected to Reolink Home Hub or Reolink Home Hub Pro support WiFi switching directly through the Reolink App or Reolink Client.

  • Via Reolink App

    Step 1: Access the Camera Wi-Fi Settings
    Go to the camera's Settings interface and tap on Wi-Fi.

    Step 2: Switch the Camera Network
    1. Connect to a Different Wi-Fi Network. Tap "Switch to another network", select a new Wi-Fi network from the list.

    Enter the Wi-Fi password, tap Save to switch the connection. When you see the "Switched to another network" message and the camera's Current Wi-Fi shows the Wi-Fi you intended to connect to, the connection has been successfully established.

    2. Sync with Home Hub Wi-Fi. (Note: This option will not appear if your camera is already connected to the Home Hub's Wi-Fi.). Tap the option "Sync Home Hub Wi-Fi" to sync the camera with your Home Hub's Wi-Fi for seamless connectivity. Choose to sync with either 2.4GHz or 5GHz.     When the camera's current Wi-Fi displays a long Wi-Fi name starting with "REOLINK", it indicates that the camera has successfully connected to the Home Hub's Wi-Fi.

  • Via Reolink Client

    Step 1: Access the Camera Wi-Fi Settings
    Click the small triangle icon to expand the camera list, then click camera's Settings button. Navigate to Network and enter the camera's Wi-Fi Configuration.

    When the camera's Current Wi-Fi shows the Wi-Fi you intended to connect to, the connection has been successfully established.

    Step 2: Switch the Camera Network
    1. Connect to a Different Wi-Fi Network. Select a new Wi-Fi network from the list and enter the password, click Connect to switch the connection.

    2. Sync with Home Hub Wi-Fi. (Note: This option will not appear if your camera is already connected to the Home Hub's Wi-Fi.).     3. Confirm Wi-Fi Connection. When the camera's current WiFi displays a long WiFi name starting with "REOLINK", it indicates that the camera has successfully connected to the Home Hub's Wi-Fi.
