Regular Reolink firmware update ensures that you benefit from the latest features, security enhancements, and performance improvements. This guide will walk you through how to update firmware on Reolink cameras, NVRs, and hubs.
Applies to: All Reolink NVRs, Reolink Home Hubs, and Reolink cameras (excluding battery-powered cameras).
👉 Note: The Reolink App does not support manual firmware updates.
Preparation Steps
Step 1. Prepare the firmware:
Go to the Reolink Download Center to find the firmware you want to upgrade (ensure you select the correct model and hardware version for your devices). Download and unzip the file, then locate the final firmware in .pak/.paks format (no need to unzip .pak/.paks file).
Step 2. Prepare the software side for firmware upgrade:
Reolink Client – Supported by all devices: Download the firmware to your computer's desktop.
Reolink Web – Supported by web-accessible cameras and Reolink NVRs: Download the firmware to your computer's desktop.

Via Reolink Client
Open the Reolink Client and go to the device Settings page.
Navigate to System > Maintenance > Firmware Update.
-
Click Browse, select the firmware file, and then click Update.
Reset Configuration: Checking this option will clear most of the configurations (Note: recordings and Wi-Fi settings will not be cleared). If you're upgrading to a firmware version that is significantly newer, we recommend checking this option to ensure the new firmware is properly applied to your device.
Wait for the progress bar to complete. Once it shows Update Completed, the firmware update is complete.
Go to System Information on the device to confirm the firmware has been updated to the target version.
Note: For NVR and Hub users, the upgrade process for NVR/Hub and connected cameras has slight differences in the interface and supported upgrade methods. For the NVR series, client versions 8.14.0 and above, as well as new NVR hardware, support firmware upgrades for cameras added to the NVR. You will see an upgrade interface that lists both the NVR and cameras, allowing you to select the appropriate channel to upgrade the corresponding camera firmware. For old NVR hardware, to upgrade the camera firmware, refer to the Via Monitor (Reolink NVR with old UI) section for upgrading via the monitor.
For the Home Hub series, the settings interface for the Home Hub itself and the cameras are separate. To upgrade the Hub's firmware, click the arrow button next to the Hub name, then click Customize to enter the Hub settings page. To upgrade the camera firmware, click the down arrow to expand the camera list, and then click the Settings button next to the camera to enter the camera Settings page.
