Reolink Chime is available in two versions (V1 and V2), each with distinct functionalities. Please note the following crucial points regarding compatibility between Reolink Doorbells and Chimes:
1. Version Compatibility: The V1 doorbell is compatible only with the V1 Chime, whereas V2 and V3 Doorbells are compatible with V2 Chime. These combinations are not interchangeable.
2. Doorbell Connection Restriction: V1 Doorbells support connection to a single Chime, whereas V2 and V3 models can pair with multiple Chimes, up to a maximum of five.
3. Chime Connection Restriction: Each Chime can only be paired with one doorbell at a time, meaning multiple doorbells cannot share the same chime.
4. Exclusive Compatibility: Reolink Chimes can only be used with Reolink Video Doorbell cameras, and vice versa.
5. Pre-Paired Sets: Doorbells that come with a Chime are pre-paired at the factory. If you purchase a Reolink Chime separately, you will need to perform the pairing process yourself by following the instructions provided.
How to Identify Your Reolink Doorbell Version
Before connecting doorbell to chime, identify your doorbell camera's version by checking the "Hardware" label located on the back of the device. This will indicate whether your device is V1, V2, or V3. If there is no "Hardware" information available, it indicates that it is a V1 version.
How to Pair Reolink Doorbell with Chime V1
To pair a Reolink doorbell with a V1 Chime, follow these steps:
1. Plug the chime into a power socket.
2. Press and hold the Settings button on the chime for 5 seconds until you hear a brief beep and observe the blue status light turning on. Release the button – your devices are now in pairing mode.
3. Press the doorbell. If the Chime's blue light flashes twice followed by two beeps, the pairing has been successful. You've connected doorbell to chime.
4. Test the setup by pressing the doorbell again; the Chime should sound.
