Discover the differences between Reolink Alarm Duration and Post-Motion Record. Find the best recording modes to safeguard your property.

Applies to: All Reolink NVRs and cameras except Reolink Go Ranger PT.

No, they are not the same.

Reolink Alarm Duration refers to the length of time the camera detects a motion.

Reolink Post-Motion Record refers to how long the camera continues recording after the alarm ends. Note that this feature is located in the SD card settings page, meaning it only applies to SD card recordings and not to other recording methods such as cloud recording.

It's also important to note that the recording duration depends on several factors, including alarm duration, Post-Motion Record, and the recording mechanism of the SD card.

SD card recordings can last up to 5 minutes during the day and up to 2 minutes at night per file. If the maximum recording duration is not reached, the recording duration will be equal to the alarm duration plus the Post-Motion Record.
