Both Reolink NVR and cameras support Reolink time-lapse. Do their functions have the same use? Or is there any difference? Please read this article, which could answer your confusion.

Time lapse is divided into two types: one is for recording future events, and the other is for recording existing events. The features may vary slightly depending on the model version of the camera, and whether it is used with Reolink NVR or Reolink Home Hub.

The following table we will divide it into three scenarios: camera used standalone, camera connected to Reolink NVR, camera connected to Reolink Home Hub. You can check the information below to to understand time lapse feature.

1.Connect the camera to the rouer and set up. (Battery-powered cameras are excluded)

2.If you still want to keep the camera connected to the NVR, you can add the camera to the Reolink NVR via LAN.

1.Enable Hybridge mode on the Reolink NVR monitor.

2.Add the camera individually, configure via the Reolink App/Client.

Conclusion:

Camera Standalone Use: Only future events can be recorded in the time lapse.

Camera Connected to Reolink NVR: Only existing events can be recorded in the time lapse.
Exception: By enabling Hybridge mode, you are able to configure both types of time lapse recording on the RLN8-410 N7MB01 and RLN16-410 N6MB01 (Firmware v3.5.1).

Reolink Home Hub: If the camera supports the time lapse feature, it will also support this feature when connected to the Home Hub, with the same effect as standalone use.
