The Reolink Video Doorbell (Battery) offers a versatile solution for enhancing your home security. This guide focuses specifically on how to connect Reolink Video Doorbell (Battery) to existing chimes, ensuring a seamless integration and reliable performance.

1. Power Supply Requirements

Before wiring Reolink doorbell to existing chime, ensure that your existing power supply transformer meets the following specifications:

  • Voltage: 8 to 24 VAC
  • Frequency: 50/60Hz
  • VA: 5VA to 40VA

Note: If your power supply voltage is below 8V AC or above 24V AC, it is recommended to replace the transformer with one that meets these requirements. Otherwise, the chime may not work properly.

2. Connecting Reolink Video Doorbell (Battery) to the Wired Chime

Step 1: Remove the Existing Doorbell

  • Confirm Original System Functionality: When the old chime's doorbell button is pressed, the chime will ring.

Step 2: Install the Wedge (Optional for Better Camera View)

Install the wedge if the visitor is not centered in the camera’s view. Otherwise, skip this step.

  • Use a wedge if:

The visitor is not expected to be in the center of the camera's field of view upon arrival.

  • A wedge is not necessary if:

Step 3: Install the Reolink Video Doorbell (Battery)

  • Connect Wires: Integrate the Reolink Video Doorbell (Battery) into your existing doorbell wiring system.

Note: Reolink provides black Jumper cables and Extension cables. The red wires in the diagrams are for illustration purposes only and do not indicate polarity. Please follow the wiring instructions carefully. The two jumper cables connected to the screws on the back of the video doorbell do not have a specific arrangement requirement. As long as the connections are made correctly, the order of the cables does not matter. Just ensure that the cables are securely attached to the screws for proper functionality.

Step 4: Complete Pairing on the Reolink App

  • Open the Reolink App: Launch the Reolink App on your smartphone.
  • Navigate to Settings: Tap on the camera's settings icon gear icon.

  • Automatic Chime Detection: Enable "Automatic Chime Detection." Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup process.

Step 5: Confirm Functionality
