Reolink Go Ranger PT and Keen Ranger PT feature an advanced PIR sensor for precise motion detection, offering more detection features like Maximum Alarm Duration and Trigger Interval compared to other Reolink battery-powered cameras. This article will show you how to configure the PIR motion sensor settings for them.
Step 1. Login to your Reolink camera and go to Camera Settings > PIR Motion Sensor.
Step 2. Enable the PIR Motion Sensor.
Step 3. Tap Sensitivity to customize the detection sensitivity. You can also enable Reduce false alarms to minimize triggers from waving objects.
Step 4. Go back to the previous page, tap Maximum Alarm Duration, and choose a suitable duration. This setting determines the longest time the PIR motion sensor can trigger, irrespective of actual alarm event durations.
Step 5. Tap Trigger Interval and select a preferred interval.
Trigger Interval sets the time gap between two motion events. After an event concludes, the sensor remains inactive during this interval.
Example:
If the Maximum Alarm Duration is set to 2 minutes and the Trigger Interval is 30 seconds: When a person is walking continuously in front of the camera, the PIR motion sensor will be triggered continuously for 2 minutes. Following the first trigger, the PIR motion sensor rests for 30 seconds before reactivation. If the motion event continues, the PIR motion sensor will be triggered again after 2 minutes and 30 seconds.
Note:
The default post-motion recording duration for Go Ranger PT and KEEN Ranger PT is 15 seconds.
