Unveiling the realm of Reolink IoT, this article sheds light on the concept and array of IoT devices available within the Reolink ecosystem.

Applies to: Reolink Floodlight PoE, Reolink Floodlight WiFi.

The Internet of Things (IoT), the network of physical devices is embedded with advanced technologies. These devices can connect and exchange data with other devices and systems over the internet without human intervention. Specifically, Reolink IoT signifies an interconnected system where Reolink devices are linked together for better communication. By integrating Reolink IoT devices with Reolink cameras, you can set conditions and actions for these devices to create an automated home security system.

Reolink IoT operates on a straightforward principle. Cameras and IoT devices are linked via a Private Protocol. Subsequently, they work together according to different if-then conditional rules set by you. "If" sentences are for conditions and "then" sentences are for actions. For example, you can set a rule that if the front door camera detects a person or vehicle at night, (then) the floodlight activates or triggers an alarm.

The recently launched Reolink Floodlight is versatile, functioning both autonomously and as an IoT device.

Boasting three lighting modes, it can be tailored to individual preferences. By default, the floodlight stays off during the day, activating only when its PIR sensor detects motion at night. You can also schedule specific on/off times or opt for auto mode, wherein the floodlight adapts to ambient light conditions and activates during darkness.

To accommodate diverse demands, two versions of the Floodlight have been devised: PoE version and WiFi version. The PoE version of floodlight transmits data and gets charged via one single Ethernet cable, which is easy and convenient. The WiFi one supports 2.4 GHz WiFi and gets charged through a power cable.

Reolink Floodlight also works as an IoT device. Linked with Reolink security cameras, it responds to camera-detected events, such as movement. What's more, you can customize the alarm with your voice and align its functionality with distinct scenarios.
