When you turn off advanced data protection, the system will ask for the protection code. Once entered, videos that were previously protected will have their protection disabled, allowing direct access without needing to enter the protection code again. However, if you do not enter the code when disabling the feature, you will need to enter it when you want to view the protected videos.
If you had forgotten a code previously (e.g., code 1), and some videos were protected with code 1, but the current code is code 2, then when you turn off the protection and enter code 2, only the videos protected by code 2 will be accessible without needing to re-enter the code. Videos protected by code 1 will still require the original code to be viewed.
Step 1. Go to the Reolink Account interface and log in to your account.
Step 2. Click Security, and then click Check next to Advanced Data Protection.
Step 3. Click Turn off Advanced Data Protection at the bottom of the page.
Step 4. Please confirm whether you wish to disable advanced data protection. If so, click Send Code.
Step 5. You will receive a verification code via email. Enter the code you received and click Verify.
Step 6. Please enter your current protection code if you wish to disable the advanced
protection for videos already protected with this code, then click Confirm.
Notes:
1. If you have other cloud videos that are protected with non-current protection codes, you still
need to enter the respective code to access them.
2. You can also click "Skip This Step" to bypass this step, but please note: The videos already protected with your current code will remain protected and still require entering the correct CURRENT protection code for access after you successfully disable the Advanced Data protection. If you agree, click "Yes, I will access those videos with protection code".
Step 7. Done! You will receive an email to remind you Advanced Data Protection Is Disabled. Your new cloud video uploads will no longer be protected with advanced data protection.
Before disabling Advanced Data Protection, the system will prompt you to enter the protection code to decode the cloud library videos that were previously protected. Once this is done, you can access these videos directly without needing to enter the protection code again. However, if you do not enter the code, you will still need to enter it when accessing these videos in the future.
