Applies to: FE-W, Fisheye Series W520, FE-P, Fisheye Series P520.
Introduction to Reolink Image Layout
The Reolink FE (fisheye) camera series has two image layout options: Fisheye mode and 5-in-1 view/Expansion mode.
- Fisheye mode
The camera image layout of FE cameras is in Fisheye mode by default, which delivers a 360° panoramic view. The image is warped like a fish eye. (The left picture below)
With Fisheye mode, you can go to the Live View page on the Reolink APP or Reolink Client and choose a display mode according to the installation position of your camera. How to Change the Display Mode of FE-W/FE-P
- 5-in-1 view/Expansion mode
If you want to dewarp and stretch the circular fisheye image, you can change the image layout to 5-in-1 view/Expansion mode, and you'll get an expanded image in 5-in-1 view mode. (The right picture below)
There are three Installation Methods options under Expansion: Ceiling, Wall, and Desktop. You can set up the Image Rotation according to the installation angle and your needs.
As you can see, when the camera is installed on the ceiling, the default fisheye view is panoramic but warped, while in the 5-in-1/Expansion view, the image is divided into 5 parts (might be overlapped) with each part being stretched. Please note that the bottom part will be reversed if you have set the installation position to the Ceiling.
Important Notes:
1. Switching the image layout will cause the camera to restart once. The settings of privacy mask, detection zone, and object size will be cleared after changing the image layout.
2. SD card/NVR recordings and third-party software follow the actual camera image layout settings. For example, if you set it to a 5-picture view, then the recordings on the SD card or the display in third-party software will be in a 5-picture format.
