If you need to get alerted only when the doorbell button is pressed by a visitor, you can refer to the article below to set up the alert settings for the Doorbell camera via Reolink NVRs.
Applies to: Reolink Video Doorbell PoE, D340P, Reolink Video Doorbell WiFi, D340W, Reolink Doorbell Battery, RLN8-410, NVS8, RLN16-410, NVS16 and RLN36, NVS36, RLN12W, NVS12W
Before setting it up, please check if your NVR could work with Reolink Video Doorbell cameras.
If your Doorbell camera has been added to the NVR, you can follow the steps below to get alerted only when a Visitor triggers the camera, that is, someone presses the doorbell button.
1. Setting up Visitor Push Notifications.
Step 1. Log in to your camera on the NVR monitor, enter the live-view page, and then click the Settings gear icon.
Step 2. Go to Surveillance > Push Notifications. First, you need to turn on the Push Notifications for the NVR. Then click Daily Schedule.
Step 3. Set up the push schedule.
- Select the channel of your doorbell camera. Enable Push for this camera.
- Check Visitor only among all the alarm types.
- Click the grids on the weekly timetable (a grid stands for one hour). Blue means you will receive a Visitor push notification once the camera detects a visitor in that hour. Grey means disabled. For example, the schedule below means you will receive push notifications on your phone on weekdays when someone presses the doorbell.
2. Setting up Visitor Email Notifications.
Step 1. Log in to your camera on the NVR monitor, enter the live-view page, and then click the Settings gear icon.
Step 2. Go to Surveillance > Email Alerts. First, you need to turn on the button for email alerts of the NVR. Then click Daily Schedule.
Note: If you haven't configured email settings such as sender address, refer to How to Set Up Email Alerts via NVR (New UI).
Step 3. Set up the push schedule.
- Select the channel of your doorbell camera. Click the button to enable email alerts for this camera.
- Tick Visitor only among all the alarm types.
- Click the grids on the weekly timetable (a grid stands for one hour). Blue means you will receive a Visitor alarm email once the camera detects a visitor at that hour. Grey means disabled. For example, the schedule below means you will receive alarm emails on weekdays when someone presses the doorbell.
Done! Now you will only get alerted when someone is actually pressing the doorbell button. If you still want to get alerted when the camera detects the motions of a person or any other objects, please select Person/Any Motion accordingly when you set up the schedule for push/email/camera recording.
