To improve the security of your device, you could enable illegal login lockout to lock the account for a while after entering the wrong password several times.
Applies to: All Reolink WiFi and PoE cameras that support smart detection (except for RLC-1212A and Duo WiFi/PoE), Reolink NVRs and Reolink Home Hubs.
1. Important Notes
- Only the admin account has the authority to turn the Illegal Login Lock on or off.
- Once enabled, the Illegal Login Lockout will apply to all users of the device.
- When the Illegal Login Lockout is enabled, if the login password is input wrongly several times (about 10 times) within 3 minutes, the account will be locked for 5 minutes.
2. Step-by-Step Instructions

Via Reolink App
Launch the Reolink App and log in to your camera. Tap the gear icon to open Device Settings, then scroll down and tap Advanced. Toggle the Illegal Login Lockout switch to enable (blue) or disable (grey).
Done! Now if you enter the wrong password too many times when accessing the device, your account will be locked as the picture shows below:

Via Reolink Client
Launch the Reolink Client and log in to your device. Click the gear icon to enter the device's Settings page. Then, go to System > Login Settings. Toggle the "Illegal Login Lockout" switch to enable it (blue) or disable it (grey).
Done! Now if you enter the wrong password too many times when accessing the device, your account will be locked as the picture shows below:

Via Reolink Web browser
Applies to: All Reolink cameras and Reolink NVRs except battery-powered cameras, Reolink E1, Reolink E1 Pro, and Reolink Lumus.
Access your device via web browser. Click the Device Settings gear icon on the top right corner. Go to System > User Management. Click the Illegal Login Lockout switch to enable (blue) or disable (grey).
Done! Now if you enter the wrong password too many times when accessing the device, your account will be locked as the picture shows below:

Via Reolink Monitor (Reolink NVR with New UI)
Locate the menu bar on the monitor (the menu bar may be at the top or bottom depending on your NVR version; please refer to your specific NVR interface). Click Settings > System > Account Center. Toggle the Illegal Login Lockout button to turn it on (blue) or turn in off (grey).
Done! Now if you enter the wrong password too many times when accessing the NVR, your account will be locked as the picture shows below:
