To improve the security of your camera, you could enable illegal login lockout to lock the account for a while after entering the wrong password several times.
Applies to: All Reolink WiFi and PoE cameras that support smart detection (except for RLC-1212A and Duo WiFi/PoE)
When the Illegal Login Lockout is enabled, if the login password is input wrongly several times (about 10 times) within 3 minutes, the account will be locked for 5 minutes. Blow are guides on how to enable/disable this function via Reolink App and Reolink Client.
Set up Illegal Login Lockout via Reolink App
Step 1. Launch Reolink App and log in to your camera. Tap the Device Settings gear icon to enter the Settings page. Scroll down to tap Advanced.
Step 2. Tap User Management. Turn on the Illegal Login Lockout switch. Now the switch is in blue, which means the illegal login lockout function is enabled.
If you need to disable it, just tap the switch again to make it grey.
Done! Now if you enter the wrong password too many times when accessing the camera, your account will be locked as the picture shows below:
Set up Illegal Login Lockout via Reolink Client
Step 1. Launch Reolink Client and log in to your camera. Click the Device Settings gear icon to enter the camera Settings page.
Step 2. Go to System > User Management. Click the Illegal Login Lockout switch to enable it (in blue).
Click the switch again to make it grey if you want to disable this function.
Notes:
- Only the Admin account have the authority to turn on/off Illegal Login Lock.
- Illegal login lockout, once enabled, will be applied to all admins and users of this camera.
