This article introduces the differences between hard reset, software restore and reboot.

Applies to: All Reolink devices.

Feature Explanation: Reset, Restore, and Reboot

Hard reset means pressing the reset button on the device body. It can only be done when you have physical access to the device.

Restore is an operation on Reolink App/Client that can be done remotely even when you are not next to your Reolink device.

Reboot can both be done manually or via the software. It serves to switch off the device and restart it. It will not change the settings of the device.

Note:

  1. Clicking on the above blue text will redirect you to the corresponding operation guide.

  2. If you do not see the Restore/Reboot feature in the Reolink software, it may be because you are not using a super admin account, or the camera is offline. In this case, you will not be able to access the settings to perform additional operations.

  3. Reset/Restore clears configuration-related settings, like device password, but will not delete recorded videos.
