The monitor point is the default monitoring position of the camera. The camera will return to that point automatically after deviating according to the time set (60 seconds by default).

For cameras with PTZ function, the camera may track the person or animal by panning or tilting. If you need the camera to “stare” at a specific position and return to this position each time the camera finishes panning or tilting, you could resort to setting up the monitor point for your camera.
