1. SD Card Recording Type Support

All battery-powered cameras support motion recording, but most don’t support continuous recording due to limited battery life. However, Reolink now offers two models that support continuous recording. Below is the support for motion and continuous recording on battery-powered cameras:
  • Motion Recording: All battery-powered cameras.
  • Continuous Recording: Reolink Altas PT Ultra, Reolink TrackMix LTE Plus.

2. Preparation for Recording Configuration

Preparation: A compatible microSD card. Refer to How to Choose microSD Card for Reolink Device to choose an appropriate microSD card.

Whether a battery-powered camera supports smart detection determines whether it has the option to configure a recording schedule. So, how should different models be set up to ensure the camera successfully records to the SD card?

  • Battery-powered cameras with smart detection: Need to configure the recording schedule.

  • Battery-powered cameras without smart detection: Simply enable the recording switch to start recording.

If you're unsure whether your camera supports the smart detection feature, refer to the following content and check your camera's settings interface, or confirm in this article: Which Camera Supports Smart Detection
