Installation 

Install the Camera

Mount the camera to the wall

1. Drill holes in accordance with the mounting hole template.
2. Install the mount base with screws included in the package.
3. To adjust the camera direction, you may control the camera to pan and tilt via Reolink App or Client.

NOTE: Use the drywall anchors included in the package if needed.

Installation Tips

  • Do not face the camera toward any light sources.
  • Do not point the camera toward a glass window. Or, it may result in poor image quality
    because of the window glare by infrared LEDs, ambient lights, or status lights.
  • Do not place the camera in a shaded area and point it towards a well-lit area. Or, it may
    result in poor image quality. To ensure the best image quality, the lighting condition for both the
    camera and the captured object shall be the same.
  • To ensure better image quality, it’s recommended to clean the lens with a soft cloth from
    time to time.
  • Make sure the power ports are not directly exposed to water or moisture and not blocked
    by dirt or other elements.
  • With IP waterproof ratings, the camera can work properly under conditions like rain and
    snow. However, it doesn't mean the camera can work underwater.
  • Do not install the camera at places where rain and snow can hit the lens directly.
  • The camera may work in extremely cold conditions as low as -25°C. Because when it is
    powered on, the camera will produce heat. You may power on the camera indoors for a few
    minutes before installing it outdoors.
  • Try to keep the left lens level with the right lens.

Micro SD Card Installation

Please refer to the below steps to install the SD card on your camera.

Step 1. Use a screwdriver to unscrew the cover from the camera.

Step 2. Insert a micro SD card, please use your fingernail (or use the provided reset needle) to push the micro SD card in until you feel it is locked, and you will hear a click sound and the micro SD card will not pop out if the camera is inserted in properly.

Initial Setup

When you turn on the camera, you will hear a continuous beep sound or voice prompt from the camera. You can start to set it up via Reolink App or Client after hearing the sound. 

  • Reolink App

    • Step 1. Switch on the camera, and you will hear a startup sound and a repeated Ding sound following it.The switch is at the bottom of the camera. 
    • Step 2. Tap the icon Add camera icon in the top right corner.
    • Step 3. Scan the QR code on the back of the camera. If the phone doesn't respond, please tap Enter and manually enter the UID (16-digit characters under the QR code of the camera).
    • Step 4. Select Wi-Fi Not configured. Make sure the camera is powered on and tap Next. If you heard the Ding sound, please tick "I have heard ding sounds from the camera".
      Step 5. Enter the Wi-Fi password of the selected Wi-Fi network (you can tap the Eye icon to double-check the password) and tap Next
      Step 6. For Reolink battery-powered cameras, a QR code will be generated and displayed on your phone. Place the QR code on your phone in front of the camera’s lens at a distance of about 20 cm (8 inches) to let the camera scan the QR code. Tick "I have heard the beep sound" and tap Next.

      Step 7. After the beep sound, the camera will connect to the router. Please wait for around 60 seconds.

      If you hear the double-tone sound or "Connection to the router failed", tap troubleshoot.

      If there's no sound after the 60s countdown or you still can't access the camera even if you hear "Connection to the router succeded", tap troubleshoot.

      Step 8. You may initialize your camera: "Create a login password" and "Name your camera", also choose the scene for your camera.
      How to Initially Set up Reolink Battery-powered WiFi Cameras via Reolink App
  • Reolink Client

    • Step 1. Power on the camera and wait for the voice prompt: Camera has been started up. Please run Reolink App, add the camera and set it up.

      Step 2. Click "+" icon on the top right corner, choose UID and enter the UID of the camera, and then, click Add starting to set it up.
      Step 3. Click OK.
      Step 4. Check Connect to WiFi and click OK.
      Step 5. Input the WiFi information to configure WiFi for this camera. Please make sure that you enter the correct WiFi password.

      Step 6. A QR code will be generated and displayed on the screen of your PC. Please place the camera in front of the QR code on your PC at a distance of about 20cm (8 inches) to let the camera to scan the QR code. 

      Step 7. When you hear the voice prompt of scan succeeded, click Finish to wait. 
      Step 8. After you hear the prompt of Connection to the router succeeded, you can create a password and edit the name of the camera. After that, the initial setup process is finished.
