When previewing your Reolink camera, adjusting the stream mode is essential for achieving the best live-view experience. By selecting the right settings, you can ensure a clear and fluid display, enhancing your overall monitoring and capturing capabilities.

Applies to: All Reolink cameras.

By default, the stream mode is set to 'Fluent' to ensure smooth live viewing. However, some users may prefer a clearer image. Then you can manually switch to 'Clear' mode on the live view page. This setting can be adjusted through various Reolink software. 

For more details about the differences among Clear, Fluent, and Balanced stream types, please visit 'The Difference Among Clear, Fluent, and Balanced.' Note: Different cameras may support slightly different modes.

Step-by-Step Guide to Change Stream Mode in Live Viewing

  • Via Reolink App

    Launch the Reolink App, go to the Live View page, and tap the low icon to switch the stream type.

  • Via Reolink Client

    Please launch the Reolink Client first.

    Method 1:

    Move your mouse to the live stream page and right-click the mouse. You will find the Clear/Balanced/Fluent/Close option here. 

    Clear is the best image quality.

    Fluent is the lowest image quality. The Fluent resolution depends on your camera model.

    Note: When recording, the camera will record in both Clear and Fluent stream types, but you can choose one of them when you playback the videos.

    Balanced is the image quality between Clear and Fluent.

    Close means stopping the live stream.

    Method 2:

    And you can also change the stream mode by clicking the icon on the Live View page.

  • Via Reolink Web browser

    Applies to: All Reolink cameras and NVRs except for battery-powered cameras, E1, E1 Pro, Lumus, and add-on cameras. 

    Step 1. Make sure your PC is connected to the same router as your camera.

    Step 2. Input the IP Address of your camera on a web browser and log in to your camera.

    Step 3. Click the Low button at the bottom left corner of the Preview page.

    You can switch between Fluent/Balanced/Clear stream mode based on your needs and the network condition.

    Notes:

    1. The web interface may vary according to different camera modes.

    2. For 8MP/12MP cameras, the highest resolution of the Clear mode is not supported currently.
    Accessing cameras via web browser is achieved by RTMP. The highest resolution of the mainstream of our 8MP/12MP cameras is in H.265 format, however, since RTMP does not support H.265 format, the 8MP/12MP cameras cannot be viewed under Clear mode in highest resolution via web browser.

    3. If you are previewing TrackMix WiFi/PoE or RLC-81MA, you can view the two lenses one by one by changing the stream mode:

    • Click Track to see the image of the telephoto (tracking) lens.
    • Click Low to enter the fluent stream image of the wide-angle lens.
    • Click High to enter the clear stream mode of the wide-angle lens. (not supported currently)
