This article introduces two methods to do the initial setup for Reolink Floodlight WiFi via the Reolink App. Follow the step by step to finish the initialization of Floodlight on your phone.
Note: Download the latest app from the Download Center or scan the QR code to download and install Reolink App first.
There are two methods to do the initial setup of Reolink Floodlight WiFi: 1. with a Wi-Fi connection; 2. with a network cable connection.
1. With Wi-Fi Connection
Step 1. Tap the icon in the top right corner. Scan the QR code on the device.
Step 2. Tap Choose Wi-Fi Connection.
Step 3. Use the supplied power adapter to power the device.
Press the reset button in the pinhole with a pin or a paperclip for 5 seconds. Then tap Yes.
Step 4. Name your device and create a password for it. Tap Next.
Step 5. Tap To Connect or go straight to the WLAN page on the system settings of your phone.
Find from Available networks and connect to “Reolink_Floodlight_VK2M” as indicated in the picture.
Note: Different devices will have different WiFi names. The above “Reolink_Floodlight_VK2M” only applies to this device.
Step 6. After the connection is successful, this page will be displayed. You need to enter the WiFi password of the selected WiFi. Then tap Next.
Note: Currently, only 2.4GHz WiFi is available for this device.
Step 7. Wait around 60 seconds for the device to connect to the router.
Step 8. Initialization succeeded. You may save the device's QR code for future use.
Step 9. Now you can tap IoT to find the device you've successfully initialized.
2. With a Network Cable Connection
To do the initial setup, power on the device with the DC adapter, connect the device to your router's LAN port with an Ethernet cable, and then follow the steps below.
Step 1. If your phone, the Floodlight, and the router are on the same network, and you've enabled the Add Device Automatically option in the app Settings, you can tap Floodlight1 on the IoT page and skip to Step 3.
Otherwise, tap the icon in the top right corner. Scan the QR code on the device.
Step 2. Tap Choose Network Cable Connection.
Make sure your device is properly powered with the supplied power adapter and connected to the router with an Ethernet cable. Then tap Next.
Step 3. Create a password and name your device. Then tap Next.
Step 4. Choose a 2.4 GHz WiFi and enter its password.
Step 5. Initialization finished.
Tips: You can remove the network cable from the camera and check if the connection has changed to WiFi.
