  • Wi-Fi Test Failed

    There are several possible causes for Wi-Fi Test Failed when setting up WiFi for Reolink WiFi cameras. You may follow the troubleshooting tips listed below to solve the problem.

    Cause 1. Incorrect WiFi password.

    Solution: Click on Show Password to double-check whether the WiFi password you entered is correct (the password is case-sensitive, and on some Android phones, a blank space will be automatically added to the end of the password).

    Cause 2. The WiFi connection is unstable.

    Solution: Please check whether the antennas of the camera are securely mounted; place the camera closer to the router and try again.

    Cause 3. The WiFi channel is occupied.

    Solution: Please go to the router interface and modify the WiFi channel to other available values. See examples of how to find the best WiFi channel for your network and how to change the wireless channel on a NETGEAR router.

  • Failed to Find WiFi for WiFi Cameras

    When you set WiFi for the camera, the camera couldn't find any WiFi network, below are some tips for your reference. 

    1. Please check whether the antennas have been fixed firmly on the camera(for the cameras which have the external antennas).

    2. Please ensure that the camera isn't placed too far from your router.

    3. Please reset the camera and reboot your router to have a try.

    4. Please upgrade your camera to the latest version.

    5. Please try to manually enter the WiFi SSID and password in the WiFi settings to see if the camera could be connected to WiFi.

  • Fail to Add Reolink WiFi Cameras

    If you failed to add the wifi camera to the phone APP or computer client. Please check the steps below to troubleshoot this issue.

    Cause 1. The camera is not powered up properly

    Solution: Please cover the day/night sensor on the camera and see whether the IR LEDs are lit up. If not, change to a different DC adapter and socket.

    Cause 2. The camera's WiFi setting is Not configured properly

    Solution: Please make sure you had connected the camera to your router by Ethernet cable and configured wifi. Please follow here: How to Initially Set up WiFi Cameras via Reolink Client (New Client)

    Cause 3. The firewall and anti-virus software settings of the PC client or VPN setting of the APP

    Solution: Please check your PC firewall or anti-virus software and make sure the Reolink client can pass through the firewall.

  • Fail to Add Cameras to Google Home

    If the camera failed to be added to Google Home or the Google Home device cannot find the camera, below are the causes and solutions you may refer to:

    Cause 1. The Smart Home Skill of the Camera is Not Enabled Yet.

    Solution: Please enable the smart home skill for the camera on Reolink App.

    Cause 2. Reolink Account

    Solution:

    1. Check the Reolink account on Reolink App and make sure the camera is bound to this Reolink account.

    2. Make sure the Reolink account (which is the same as the one on Reolink App) is logged in successfully on Google Home App to authorize the Reolink Smart Home skill.

    Cause 3: The internet connection of Google Home or the camera

    Solution: Restart the Google Home device and the camera, and make sure they have connected to the internet.

  • Fail to Add Reolink WiFi Cameras to Reolink PoE NVR

    If you fail to add this camera to the Reolink PoE NVR, below are some possible causes and related solutions. 

    Cause 1. As for the Status Like "Invalid Password", It Means that the Camera Needs to Be Typed in the Password

    Solution: Type in the password of the camera by scrolling to the right side of the screen.

    Cause 2. As for the Status Like "Offline", There May Be Two Same IP Addresses of The Cameras

    Solution: Reboot the NVR and the cameras to see if the IP addresses can be changed.

  • Failed to Add Cameras to Synology

    If you fail to add Reolink cameras to Synology, you can follow the below steps to make troubleshoot.

    Cause 1. The steps to add cameras to Synology is wrong

    Solution:

    Please kindly refer to the link to add cameras to Synology: How to Add Reolink Cameras to Synology Surveillance Station.

    Also make sure you have entered the right username, password, and port number.

    Cause 2. The resolution of the camera and resolution setting on Synology are different
    Solution: Please change both resolutions of the camera and Synology to the same one.
    Cause 3. The camera and Synology are not on the same LAN
    Solution: If the camera and Synology are not at the same LAN, you need to port forward the RTSP port and ONVIF sport.
