Smart Person & Vehicle Detection

Based on traditional Motion Detection, Smart Person & Vehicle Detection has optimized the algorithms and technology to massively reduce false alarms and filter Persons and Vehicles from all movements.

Note: Only D400/B400 with hardware version IPC_566B104MP support Smart Person & Vehicle Detection. (About how to find the hardware version of your camera, please refer to How to Find out System Information via Reolink PoE NVR or How to Find out System Information via Reolink PoE NVR ( New UI)

You can set it up via both Reolink App, Reolink Client, or the monitor.

  • On Reolink App

    1. Please open your Reolink APP > Device settings > Camera Recording/Email Alerts/Push Notification > Schedule > Choose Person/Vehicle/Others.
For example, if you only need to receive a push when a person is detected, please only choose Person here and do not choose Vehicle and Others.

Detection Zone & Privacy Mask

This part will guide you to distinguish the detection zone from the privacy mask and help you to set a detection zone or privacy mask.

Differences

Detection Zone: This function is used to reduce the false alarm. If you paint a non-detection area, the movements in the non-detection area will not trigger the camera to record or send a push, but the pictures in the non-detection area will still appear on the previewing page. The detection zone will not influence the previewing pictures

Privacy Mask: This function is used to protect others' privacy in case some areas are not allowed to be monitored. You can add at most 3 privacy masks. Our privacy mask is a rectangle and you can not customize its shape. The privacy mask will influence the previewing pictures.

  • Set Up a Detection Zone

    1. The following video will guide you to set up a detection zone via both Reolink App (from the beginning) and Reolink Client (from 2:15)

Object Size

Object Size is used to reduce false alarms.
The movements smaller than the minimum size will not be collected.
Vice versa, the movements larger than the maximum size will not be collected as well.
