This guide walks you through how to install a supported storage device in your RLN4E.
Step 1: Open the NVR
- Use a screwdriver to remove the four screws on the bottom panel.
- Slide the top cover upward to open the NVR.
Step 2: Install HDD or microSD Card
Option A: Install a 2.5" or 3.5" HDD (Recommended)
- Place the HDD into the bay and connect it to the SATA power and data connectors.
- Align the drive with the mounting holes on the NVR base and secure it using the included screws.
NOTE: Use the large screws for a 3.5" HDD and the small screws for a 2.5" HDD. For user-purchased drives, use surveillance-grade only (5400 RPM or lower).
Option B: Install a microSD Card
A built-in microSD card slot supports microSD cards up to 512GB. Locate the SD card slot in the middle of the NVR, then insert the SD card in the correct orientation.
Step 3: Reassemble the NVR

- Reinstall the four screws on the bottom panel.
