This article will include three parts:
What Are Cross-Camera Events?
Cross-Camera Events is an intelligent feature on the Reolink Home Hub 2 that helps you better track a target's movement across devices and see the complete picture of an event. Cross-Camera Events does not use facial recognition. Instead, it identifies and groups targets based on visual attributes, such as hair length, clothing color, and the presence of glasses.
When this feature is enabled, the system intelligently correlates detections from multiple cameras under the same Home Hub 2. The key capabilities include:
- Daily Summary Counts — Your Daily Summary will include counts of targets that appear similar across multiple detections, giving you a clear overview of the day.
- Grouped Similar Events — Similar events will be grouped together, allowing you to easily switch between related video clips during playback.
- Snapshots with Feature Labels — During event playback, you'll see snapshots of targets that match specific feature labels.
- Labeled Push Notifications — Push notifications will include descriptions of the feature labels that the target matched, so you can quickly understand what's been detected.
How to Enable Cross-Camera Events
Step 1. Open the Reolink App and go to your Home Hub 2's settings, then tap AI at the top.
Step 2. Enable Cross-Camera Events.
Step 3. Check which cameras under the Home Hub 2 support this feature. In this example picture, two cameras are supported.
Done! Cross-Camera Events is now active on your Home Hub 2.
How to View Cross-Camera Events
There are two ways to view Cross-Camera Events on your Home Hub 2.
Method 1: Smart Security Summary (Daily Report)
Navigate to Smart Security Summary > Daily Report to review all Cross-Camera Events captured on a specific day.
Note: The Weekly Report is not currently supported for Cross-Camera Events only.
You can only filter the statistics by date and view them one day at a time.
Method 2: Event History
Go to Event History and apply the Cross-Camera Events filter to display only events captured by this feature. You can also combine the time filter to narrow down results:
- Select a single day, or
- Select a date range of up to 7 consecutive days — start by choosing one day, then extend up to the following 7 days.
