Reolink TrackMix LTE Plus Series and Reolink Altas series cameras offer more than just motion recording like other battery-powered cameras—they also support 24/7 continuous recording thanks to their high-capacity battery. This article will guide you through setting up the recording schedule for the Reolink TrackMix LTE Plus and Reolink Altas series cameras on the Reolink software in the following parts:

The Reolink TrackMix LTE Plus Series and Reolink Altas series cameras support both motion recording and continuous recording. Click the link for the software you're using to access step-by-step setup instructions.
Important Note: The Reolink TrackMix LTE Plus Series do not support use with Reolink NVR.
*Part 1. Motion Recording
Via Reolink App

Standalone Use / Use with Reolink Home Hub
Step 1. Launch your Reolink App and log in to your camera, then go to Device settings > Camera Recording.
Step 2. Enable Camera Recording and then tap Motion Recording Schedule.
Step 3. Tap Detection Type to select the detection types you want to enable. Tap Save to apply the settings.
Note: Detection Type is different for some models. Please refer to the actual interface on your device, as it may vary.Step 4. Tap the
icon to edit the times by swiping the schedule grid. If you want to remove a scheduled period, tap
icon and then swipe the schedule grids. Blue grids indicate the periods when motion recording is enabled. White grids indicate recording is disabled for the selected time period.
(Optional) Select All / Erase All: Tap Select All to fill the entire schedule with the selected recording mode. Tap Erase All to remove all scheduled recordings.
Tap Save to apply the settings.

Use with Reolink NVR
Step 1. Launch your Reolink App, go to the NVR device settings, and then tap Record to proceed.
Step 2. Enable the Record toggle of the device you want to set up, then tap Settings under it. Then tap Motion Recording Schedule to set it up.
Step 3. Tap Detection Type to select the detection types you want to enable. Tap Save to apply the settings.
Note: Detection Type is different for some models. Please refer to the actual interface on your device, as it may vary.Step 4. Tap the

Use with Reolink NVR
Step 1. Log in to the camera and go to Device Settings > Surveillance > Record.
Step 2. Make sure the Enable Record button is turned on, and then click Schedule.
Step 3. Choose the channel you want to configure and turn on Enable Record to set up.
❶ Select Event Triggered to configure motion alarm recording. Choose one or more Detection Types, such as Person, Vehicle, Animal, or Others.
❷ Select Enable/Disable and click and drag across the timetable to select the recording period (One grid is for an hour). Blue grids indicate periods when recording is enabled. Gray grids indicate periods when recording is disabled.
❸ (Optional) Click Enable All to fill the entire schedule with the selected continuous recording. This means the camera will record continuously at all times. Alternatively, click Disable All to remove all scheduled recordings and prevent the camera from recording continuously.
❹ (Optional) Click Apply to Other Cameras to share the same recording schedule.
❺ Click Save if you finish setting up.
Via Reolink NVR (new UI)

Use with Reolink NVR
Step 1. Click the gear icon to get to the Settings page. Go to Surveillance > Enable Record > Daily Schedule. Click Enable Record to activate the record function.
Note:
1. Depending on the NVR version, the Settings button may be located at either the top or the bottom of the interface.
2. This Record button controls all cameras connected to your NVR. If disabled (in grey), the cameras will stop recording, regardless of their schedule configurations.Step 2. Select the camera and enable its record button. Click Alarm and select the detection types you want to enable. Then, click Enable to choose the recording times on the timetable, or select Disable to set periods when you don’t want the camera to record.
Step 3. (Optional) Tap Apply to Other Cameras to share the same recording schedule.
*Part 2. Continuous Recording
Note: Smart Battery Mode is designed to optimize energy usage for battery-powered cameras that support continuous recording. It automatically adjusts recording settings based on the battery level to help extend battery life. We will also guide you through the setup process for configuring it.
Via Reolink App

Standalone Use / Use with Reolink Home Hub
Step 1. Launch your Reolink App and log in to your camera, then go to Device settings > Camera Recording.
Step 2. Enable Camera Recording (if it is enabled, simply disregard it) and then tap Continuous Recording Schedule.
Step 3. Tap the
icon in the bottom-left corner to swipe over the time slots (One grid is for an hour) you want to schedule. If you want to remove a scheduled period, tap
icon and then swipe the schedule grids. Blue grids indicate periods when recording is enabled. White grids indicate recording is disabled for the selected time period.
(Optional) Select All / Erase All: Tap Select All to fill the entire schedule with the selected recording mode. Tap Erase All to remove all scheduled recordings.
Click Save if you finish setting up.
Step 4. (Optional) If your camera supports Smart Battery Mode, you can go back to the Camera Recordings page and tap Smart Battery Mode to set it up.
By default, the Low Frame Rate range is set to 10%–80%, and it is recommended to leave this setting unchanged. If you notice excessive battery consumption, you can widen the range to reduce power usage.
For the Reolink Altas Series cameras, you can configure the frame rate (fps). The default frame rate is set to 3 fps, but you can also select from options of 1 or 5 fps.
Note: Frame rate cannot be adjusted for the Reolink TrackMix LTE Plus. -
Use with Reolink NVR
Applies to: RLN8-410 (N7MB01), RLN16-410 (N6MB01), RLN36, NVS36 and RLN12W with latest firmware v3.5.1 or later.
Step 1. Launch your Reolink App, go to the NVR device settings, and then tap Record to proceed.
Step 2. Enable the Record toggle of the device you want to set up, then tap Settings under it. Then tap Continuous Recording Schedule to set it up.

Step 4. (Optional) Smart Battery Mode: When Smart Battery Mode is enabled, the camera automatically adjusts Continuous Recording based on the current battery level to extend battery life. Smart Battery Mode divides the battery level into three ranges. As the battery level decreases, the camera automatically switches Continuous Recording from Full Frame Rate to Low Frame Rate, and finally Disable. You can adjust the battery level thresholds based on your recording and battery life requirements.

2. Explanation of Frame Rate
Additional Notes for Reolink Altas Series Cameras:
The Altas series cameras support three frame rate settings: Stream FPS, Smart Battery Mode FPS, and Pre-recording FPS.
- When both pre-recording and smart battery mode are off, the frame rate matches the stream mode setting.

When smart battery mode is enabled, the frame rate depends on the battery status:
- In low frame rate situations, it matches the smart battery mode setting.
- In full frame rate situations, it matches the stream mode setting.
- When pre-recording is enabled, in low frame rate situations, the frame rate will prioritize pre-recording settings.
- If the camera is in live view or if Motion Detection (MD) or PIR is triggered, the frame rate reverts to the stream mode setting regardless of the current situation.
