This article explains how to initially set up a Reolink Floodlight WiFi using the Reolink App. You can set up the Floodlight WiFi either through a Wi-Fi connection or through an Ethernet connection.
Before you start, Download the latest app from the Download Center or scan the QR code to download and install the Reolink App.
There are two methods to do the initial setup of Reolink Floodlight WiFi. Select one method as your needs:
1. Set Up via Wi-Fi Connection
2. With a Network Cable Connection
1. Set Up via Wi-Fi Connection
Step 1. Power on the Floodlight WiFi with a DC 12V/2A adapter.
Step 2. Tap + Add New Device to scan the QR code on the button of the Floodlight PoE. Alternatively, tap Manual Input and manually type in the UID (the 16‑digit characters under the QR code on the Floodlight PoE). Then tap Next.
Note: If you've enabled the Add Device Automatically option on the App's settings page, the floodlight will appear on the Home Page automatically.
Step 3. Tap Choose Wi-Fi Connection.
Step 4. Confirm the device is powered on properly and then tap Next.
Press the reset button in the pinhole with a pin or a paperclip for 5 seconds. Then tap Yes.
Step 5. Name your device and create a password for it. Tap Next.
Step 6. Go to the WLAN page in the system settings of your phone. Find from Available networks and connect your phone to the temporary Wi-Fi network “Reolink_Floodlight_VK2M” as indicated in the picture.
Note: Different devices will have different WiFi names. The above “Reolink_Floodlight_VK2M” only applies to this device.
Step 7. Tap Switch to connect to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and then input the password of router/Wi-Fi. Then tap Next.
Note: It doesn't support 5GHz WiFi connection.
Step 8. Wait around 60 seconds for the device to connect to the router.
Step 9. Initialization finished! Now, you can set up the Floodlight PoE.
2. With a Network Cable Connection
Step 1. Power on the device with the DC adapter and connect the device to your router's LAN port with an Ethernet cable.
Step 2. Tap + Add New Device to scan the QR code on the button of the Floodlight PoE. Alternatively, tap Manual Input and manually type in the UID (the 16‑digit characters under the QR code on the Floodlight PoE). Then tap Next.
Note: If you've enabled the Add Device Automatically option on the App's settings page, the floodlight will appear on the Home Page automatically.
Step 3. Tap Choose Wi-Fi Connection. And confirm the device is powered on properly and then tap Next.
Step 4. The device enters the initialization process. Then create a password and name for it. Tap Next.
Step 5. Initialization finished! Now, it is connected via an Ethernet cable.
Step 6. You can configure the Wi-Fi for Floodlight WiFi. Tap the device > More Features > Wi-Fi. Select one 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and then enter the Wi-Fi's password.
Tips: You can remove the network cable from the camera and check if the connection has changed to Wi-Fi.
